This game is a direct sequel to the original Dead Island. The story literally continues where it left off. There is no difference between the first game and this sequel in terms of graphics or gameplay. The game is just as long as the original game, so if you liked the original Dead Island and want more, then you will also like this sequel. The game has small bugs, but nothing that would spoil the experience. Enjoy killing zombies.

Good Sequel to The Original Game and with good addition to Single Player game mode, interaction with team and NPC and new weapons and collectibles. Story revolving around the game was awesome as well

Even though Riptide is the sequel, I still think Dead Island DE (1) has much more fun. I think if you did not play the sequel, you did not miss out much since the gameplay is similar to Dead Island 1. If you just want to know the story, just watch it on YouTube. The Side Quests in Riptide is not that fun compared to Dead Island 1 even though most of the side quests in Dead Island 1 just go to Point A, Clear Zombies, Point B, and then return to Point A again. I give Riptide a rating of 4/10.

Even though Riptide is the sequel, I still think Dead Island DE (1) has much more fun. I think if you did not play the sequel, you did not miss out much since the gameplay is similar to Dead Island 1. If you just want to know the story, just watch it on YouTube.
