Having played both the original release, the remastered version and this latest upgrade on the console, I am quite happy to finally experience this game on my pc in all its glory. A strong story, great visuals, great gameplay, memorable soundtrack that haunts you throughout the game, fantastic work by the cast members... Everything feels right. If you haven't played this yet, I strongly recommend it. It's one of my favourite games and Part II is even better. It's worth the price.

Outstanding on all levels. atmospheric visuals, incredible audio design, and a compelling story that really expresses what it means to be in a post apocalyptic world. My only gripe with the game is how it will handle shader compilation seemingly on the fly, which hammers the CPU to 100% on all cores generating tons of heat. Hoping this is improved with Part 2 but otherwise a non issue.

I did not like this remake's gameplay. It's way too sluggish and clunky compared to the remastered, and kills the flow of the combat as Joel is very unresponsive. That being said, this is still an amazing game through and through, now with jaw-dropping graphics. The story is fantastic, gameplay is still quite fun despite the clunkiness, and the characters are nuanced, well-written, and well-acted. It's just great.
