I haven't gotten far yet, but the new turn based mode has made me fall in love with this game! I bought it many years ago but could never get into it. The combat was just as terrible as the old Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games. But the turn based mode makes it really fun!

One of the greatest CRPGs and IMO RPGs of all time. Incredible worldbuilding, character writing, music, and gameplay. Combat is enjoyable and you have a lot of options for different settings and game modes to customize the game to your liking. Tons of content to discover -- I've come back to this game for probably 3 or 4 playthroughs. Same with Deadfire, which I would say builds on this to be even better.

Very good with one huge caviat - infinite loading screen simulator. I liked the combat, TB and RTWP both. The characters, most of them were enjoyable (durance??). The world is intriguing. It looks nice. It's a good game. 8/10

I'm forced to play in turned based mode because the game seems to crash when switching to realtime combat and a cursor offset on the UI happens on occasion during combat.

I tried this game years ago, but couldn't get past the first few combats because Real-Time with Pause just isn't for me. Now, with the turn-based mode, I am really enjoying it. The deep lore is wonderful, the dungeon designs are great, and most of the companions are very interesting. The story is fantastic. If you are a CRPG fan, you have to play this—especially now that you can choose turn-based combat. I don’t see how you could be disappointed.
