STORY
Hidden within the foliage of nature lies a small but prosperous continent - Bugaria. Insects from all over the world travel to it in search of the treasure scattered across it. The most sought after of these relics is The Everlasting Sapling! Eating just one of its leaves can grant even immortality! In search of this ancient artifact, a brave team of explorers - Vi, Kabbu, and Leif - will travel across many different environments. In order to do so, they must work together to clear puzzles, defeat strong enemies and help the general bug populace!

Traverse vast overworlds that transition into turn-based combat! Use action commands with Vi's Beemerang, Leif's Ice Magic, or Kabbu's Horn to make attacks more effective or block enemy attacks! Bug fables is one of those games I dont play that often, but whenever I do I feel more interested in playing, and then slowly I do get more interested and end up spending hours doing quests and other bits of grinding while forgetting much of the main story itself. I'm not done with the game, only at chapter 4 but I hope kabbu and leif kiss. FOrgot to mention the fact that its one of the few RPGs that really make me consider what I should use instead of mindlessly picking the next best thing.

I have never played Paper Mario, so can't compare. For me Bug Fables plays just a regular JPRG - a lot of back and forth between locations, lack of fast travel, most quests are simple fetch quests, the combat system is not particular interesting. It certainly looks cure and the writing is fun enough, but that can't compensate for boring and repetitve gameplay.
