ABOUT
'Alina of the Arena' is a roguelike deckbuilding tactics game that combines elements from 'Slay the Spire' and 'Into the Breach'.
Play as a gladiator that must fight for a bloodthirsty crowd to survive. With roguelike deckbuilding and hex-based tactics, players are no longer bound by simple attack and defense. Make use of dodges and knockbacks to stay alive!
FEATURES
Dynamic Deckbuilding
Pick up dozens of cards, keep the ones you need, and craft a unique deck as you fight your way through randomized levels that present a different challenge each run!
Hex-based Tactics
Unlike traditional deckbuilders that focus on attack and defense, the tactics element adds a dimension of positioning. Dupe your enemies into attacking each other, or use the terrain to gain an upper hand.
Dual Equipment System
Carry equipment in both hands to enhance your cards! You can dual wield daggers for extra damage, go with a sword & shield combo for rounded performance, or wreak havoc with a two-handed weapon. Figure out the best combination for each fight!

Very interesting turn-based RPG. The hexagonal grid gives it an extra layer of strategy in the form of battle positioning that's more complex than in most deckbuilder RPGs. Great replayability. I wish I could continue...

i dont think i've seen any game out there that lets you: move to a tile with a rock pick up said rock yeet it at the boss that has a 1 hit damage mitigation and break said mitigation before beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of it...

TLDR: Recommended for value. If you like card battlers, it's fun enough. I paid USD $7.45 on steam sale. Good value at this price. It's a low res budget knockoff of Fights in Tight spaces. Movement is paramount, you start with very little, good luck finding all the movement cards you need and in the end, you might not get the RNG anyway and lose. It's also a single board type, there's no RNG to the arena. There's a variety of classes, but really not much in the way of build variety.

really fun games, no run is gonna be the exact same and I really enjoyed the different options, when it comes to class and how there seems to be just enough cards to build and play how you want, but keep in mind it is difficult and 1 tip for beginners I have is you don't always need to collect every single card after a fight focus on your build for the run.

Great game to get on sale. Combat is easy but engaging, with a good variety of weapons, cards, and enemies. The soundtrack fits the setting quite well and the story, which is almost nonexistent, is still decent if you get the true end. Good game to spend some hours on.
