Description
Gladius Prime was once a planet of peace. Now there is only war.
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War brings you to a world of terror and violence with the first turn-based 4X strategy game set in the Warhammer universe. Face challenging AI or cooperate or compete with friends and strangers across the globe.
Play as one of four iconic Warhammer factions (Astra Militarum, Space Marines, Orks or Necrons), each with their own unique playstyle and technology tree. Explore a randomly generated world filled with special features and threatening wildlife that can crush your troop's morale. Secure control of powerful ancient artefacts to grant you an edge against rival factions.
Construct cities, buildings and fortifications to expand your empire and produce an army to vanquish your foes. Harvest resources and research new technologies to fuel and upgrade your machinery of war.
Progress through a different storyline with each faction as their destiny on Gladius Prime, a world tainted by the warp, unfolds. In the end, when all the dust has settled, only one faction can emerge victorious.
Command a wide array of devastating weaponry, issue city edicts and deploy tactical operations. Recruit hero units that possess distinct special abilities and can be equipped with items, ranging from advanced grenades to mighty relics of the past. As they become more and more powerful with each rank, they turn into true champions of your cause.

Brilliant game - I have spent many happy hours playing this; I love the chess vibe it has, I love how it captures the essence of the various 40k factions. Amazing replayability!! I would really like to see this come out (maybe as a second version) with animated and voiced cut scenes, and a fleshed out solo campaign.

Bought the game at release and had a bunch of fun with it. But it having DLC for 100+ euros, yeah makes me not want to play the base game even

Played game for ages on and off. It's good, when it works. Its currently unstable and keeps crashing no matter what I do (removing, readding mods, different PC, verify folder, etc). Do NOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buy this game until they get it together and make it more stable. Sidenote: why are all Slitherine games such massive issues on optimization/stability.

Has a bit of a learning curve to it, but this game is a lot of fun if you like strategy games and Warhammer. Although I will criticize its DLC contents. Having one new unit for each faction in a DLC is a bit underwhelming. Even more so when a DLC contains a faction you don't want to play.

Enjoyable gameplay and with great depth and good value when on sale. Only negative is the ridiculous slider for navigating research which looks as though it was intended to be hidden???
