This is a great route, it's detailed, atmospheric and has an interesting mix of passenger and freight activities. I find the old diesel trains a lot more entertaining to drive than modern ones, the sound of the engines, the manual gear changes, it's just a more engaging experience than modern units for me personally.

This is a fun one, capturing the last gasps of British Rail and the British steel industry in 1989, with a good variety of trains and some great add-ons in the form of the Class 20 and Class 31. Would recommend you pick this one up, especially if it's on sale. Just wish we had gotten a Pacer :(

I've gotten this with the UK pack of the game and I must say, I am happy that I chose this. It nicely complements the other 3 base game routes, with a healthy mix of cargo and passenger routes (mostly cargo). The trains are very diverse in terms of how they control and how they feel, I find driving the diesel-mechanical Class 101 especially satisfying.

KMiR (King Midas in Reverse) strikes again with the Preservation Update for this route. Everything they touch turns to... The track, perfectly fine, turned to an ugly mess. This company hates when you enjoy something. And boy will they let you know. And charge you for it too.
