Civ 6 is still the best entry in the franchise, by far. If you're unsure where to start - this is the one to start with. Civ 7 just doesn't feel like a true Civ game.

I gave Civ VII a ride all the way to July 2026. 2000 hours of gameplay. Conclusion? Civ VI is a far better game.

Probably the last decent Civilization game although the series has been on a slight downwards in the last 15 years. With Civ4 still the pinnacle IMHO, then Civ V but unlike VII this is actually still playable and fun but unfortunately nowhere near as good as V or IV and worse MOD support than previous installments.

I like Civ V better than 6. There is too much extra crap in Civ VI (which of the 37 policy cards I have will I use this time?) that they put in to make the experience "deeper". IMHO they have ruined the flow of the game. Civ V has just enough extra stuff to deal with that the game keeps chugging along. It's still a well put together game, thus the thumbs up for those of you who want to look at 37 different cards every 10 turns.
