An excellent hack and slash game with satisfying combat mechanics. The combat feels weighty and its mastery is greatly satisfying. The story, set in an alternate universe where Romans created absolutely enormous buildings, creates an enjoyable backdrop to the core gameplay loop of conquering Rome's foes and saving the people from tyranny. Definitely worth one's time

I feel bad for the guy, he lost his mother and his sister that didn't even get to celebrate that he's a roman soldier, then during a fight he lost his father. Its sad. Then the barbarian King was willing to make peace with Rome, and then is KO'd with the Pease knife in front of his daughter, rude and so not cool. but over all its a really fun game and i recommend this to anyone that loves the roman history.

12 year old game at time of review and still isn't polished. Story so far was decent enough, though not memorable at all and I really didn't care about any of the characters. Combat is meh. Interacting with the environment was super janky and needed specific positioning even when the button prompt was available. Frame rates were super inconsistent and had constant drops. Got to the Edge of the World mission and my frames absolutely cratered. Gave up

Wish there was a sequel or something more, story was short. But otherwise rather enjoyable and amazed at how the graphics are still great looking even though this was released 12 years ago. Worth buying it and have replayed the story almost once every year. Really fun.
