The art design and atmosphere are flawless; it is almost like a moving painting. Unfortunately, unresponsive controls, clunky platforming physics, and unfair punishment overshadow this potential. I wish the gameplay was as fluid as its visual achievement.

Most of the deaths in this game are just from platforming because every jump leads to insta death. Not to mention the fact that ladders are buggy. I even fell through the floor on the final boss. Art is cool ,but it does not save this game from being ♥♥♥♥.

Decent fun but nothing memorable. If you're just looking for a metroidvania it's a solid pick, but I would spend my money on hollow knight, symphony of the night, or metroid dread first before picking this up. If you've played those already then yeah I'd buy it on sale.

Both the visuals and gameplay are brutal. That may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the player. This is game doesn't hand you anything. You're not going to progress without learning how each game mechanic and enemy operate. If you're unable to learn, you will fail. Much like games of old. I suspect few people manage to complete this game. The ones that do have earned it!
