The year is 3025 and the galaxy is trapped in a cycle of perpetual war, fought by noble houses with enormous, mechanized combat vehicles called BattleMechs. Take command of your own mercenary outfit of 'Mechs and the MechWarriors that pilot them, struggling to stay afloat as you find yourself drawn into a brutal interstellar civil war. Upgrade your starfaring base of operations, negotiate mercenary contracts with feudal lords, repair and maintain your stable of aging BattleMechs, and execute devastating combat tactics to defeat your enemies on the battlefield.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR 'MECHS
Use your MechLab to maintain and upgrade your units, replacing damaged weapon systems with battlefield salvage taken from fallen foes.

1553 hours and I'm itching for more. This is one of my fave games, especially with the BTA 3062 mod.

Very repetitive. Despite seeming like it offers a lot of variety, the customization isn't all that deep. The gameplay is very slow, and the audio is bugged in many of the cinematics.

That can see the planet! With sensors! It baffles me why I can't press M, see an overhead of the battlefield and plot a course along completely visible planetary surface.

From someone from the MechWarrior world, this game is outstanding. The opening cinematic is probably the best introduction to BattleTech of all time. Fun, easy to learn, lots of options, as hardcore as you want it to be, and very rewarding gameplay. The Flashpoints totally change career mode, and I highly recommend them. Get it on sale. The whole thing is superb.
