If you're joining friends who already own Borderlands 4 and a DLC Vault Hunter (including Loveless the Hacker***), they'll still be able to play as their DLC Vault Hunter, but your party will be limited to missions included in the free-to-play base game content.
If you purchase any edition of Borderlands 4 on the same platform after the Free Play Weekend ends, all your progress and loot will be saved so you can pick up right where you left off.
