A big day for the Backrooms: Escape the Backrooms launched on Xbox Series X|S (including PC and Xbox Game Pass) and PlayStation 5. A whole wave of new players now joins the wander through the yellow halls.
At the same time, the Steam version received a patch adding cross-platform matchmaking via Epic Online Services — no Epic account login required. New features include lobby codes for private and public games, an option to hide the code, platform icons on players, and voice chat that works across all platforms.
The patch also added a block-and-report system, an autosave indicator, profanity filters and dozens of bug fixes — from progression blockers in the Cave System to settings and reconnection issues.
