Game director's address: a big progression overhaul

Arrowhead game director Mikael Eriksson spoke about the future of progression in Helldivers 2 — both communal and personal. Galactic War campaigns start as soon as June: an evolution of "Major Orders," 1–3 weeks long, with clear goals, stakes and a guaranteed reward for success. The first reward will be a new FRV.

Next come Planet Warfronts: planet missions split into defense, frontline operations and raids behind enemy lines, with strategic objectives like liberating cities and gameplay consequences. Personal orders transform into individual reward tracks within each campaign.

Ships get their own revolution: a module rework with more freedom of choice, customization and entirely new ships with their own progression trees — a dedicated team is already working on the first. Coming soon: cooperative reloading with one backpack shared between two, 8 emote slots, and later a stratagem-bounce fix, a level cap of 300 and economy improvements.
