A: Combining community feedback and internal reviews, the key goals we are aiming to achieve for this area of FM27 are:
Creating a deeper and more inviting football world, making it more compelling to become truly immersed and emotionally invested
Improve the delivery of information and provide you with more choices and actions, minimising the chance of feeling disconnected with what’s going on in your save
Add more depth and meaningful details to the wider events in your save beyond your chosen club and league, making discovery easier and encouraging you to explore the footballing world
Reintroduce and, in some cases, revamp features and elements that better connect you with the game, bringing key moments to life
Q: What changes have been made to ensure important information is shared faster on key screens?
A: The Nation, News, Competition and Club screens have been revamped to quickly show you important information and helpful insights. For example, the Club screen shows key current-day details such as the manager and top goalscorer, but also transfer activity, club history, and news pieces concerning that team. Dynamic details such as a competition’s Team of the Week or top statistical performers are also prioritised. The secondary navigation bar then lets you dig into deeper details, like a squad’s dynamics or a competition’s format.
Q: How do changes to the delivery of news improve the sense of immersion in FM27?
A: News content through the game will now be more varied and feel more connected to the stage of the season you are in. There will be more unique news items that specifically reference events such as pre-season, mid-season check-ins, relegation battles and last-day deciders. You will also see more relevant or significant wider news pieces that encourage you to look further into the world around you, such as job speculation or focused pieces on your club. Better separation of world news, and news directly connected to you like transfers, also make it easier to delve into what’s going on. These changes to the news system covering its delivery, flow of information, timing, and ability to see more about the rest of the game world, combine to create a more dynamic experience, aiding your immersion.
Q: Are cup draws in FM27?
A: Yes. This returning feature ensures you can enjoy the suspense of finding out who plays who in the next round; and managers of lower-league teams can closely follow the drama as you hope to draw a big team.
Q: What other prominent features are included to help the sense of immersion in FM27?
A: Transfer deadline day activity returns as a larger focus for the game, including a redesign of the way agent offers are presented to you. Offers will now be visible and accessible via the Recruitment screen, and they will be present throughout a transfer window, but more will appear on deadline day. A more recognisable and detailed approach to displaying data for players, teams and competitions is also a big focus and will be shown further in upcoming deep dives.
Q: How will my navigation and journey change as I hit Continue?
A: After hitting Continue, instead of returning to the News feed each time, you’ll be taken to different key game areas, making the save feel more dynamic and encouraging you to explore new information and stories. You can also customise this experience during the game setup, with options to define how you cycle through messages and how often you land in a different space after continuing. This allows you to either streamline or deepen the experience to your preference.
Q: How have Player Profiles and individual player details been addressed for FM27?
A: It’s now easier and clearer for you to see the full picture of a player’s career with Personal Overview and Career History, which are now displayed in a full screen. From there, you can easily cycle through the details of each player in a squad via the secondary navigation bar. Q: Is the gameplay footage shown in this deep dive representative of what will be in FM27 on launch?
A: The gameplay content shown is from a development build of FM27. Whilst the final work is taking place ahead of launch, much of the content shown is in a near-final state. Additional work will be focused on further visual optimisation and incorporating feedback from recent user testing.
