Cursed into a half-human, half-lizard monstrosity by the Meka-Dragon, you are in search for a cure! The only way you can return to human form is to find the Salamander Cross, a magical item with the power to remove curses...
With each dragon slain, the curse intensifies, transforming you into different animals! Explore large, interconnected locations populated with grumpy monsters and exotic dragons!
Play as the game’s classic character, Hu-Man, or as his brand-new, long-awaited co-star Hu-Girl. You can also inhabit Lizard-Man, Mouse-Man, Piranha-Man, Lion-Man, and Hawk-Man, and use their unique abilities to uncover the land’s deepest secrets.

Owned the remake for the Switch, decided to rebuy this game on Steam because the game is awesome. Brings back so many memories :)

Looks good. I don't like the music remixes here, though a lot of effort went into them. Can't recommend this unless you have a lot of nostalgia for the original, since it has aged pretty poorly and there are no QoL ...

I like side-scrollers with challenges and hidden bonuses. I haven't gotten any charms yet- I'm not at the level that I can tank the special levels until I learn the patterns at the moment- but I know they're THERE to be found and have found at least two of the doors! There's also plenty of "stand there and slash it" mechanics for when the puzzles get frustrating, which is always refreshing to me in side scrollers. I like both puzzles AND hack-n-slash tactics.

Incredible game and incredible remake, buy it and play it! Absolutely love playing it with the old graphics and musics (the new stuff is fantastic too) Also, so happy they brought back the option of having the old inventory Fingers crossed on an option to change the charm stones back to the original logic. The challenge zones to get charm stones are cool and all, but I miss the old charm stones a bit.
