The Onimusha: Way of the Sword team released the 47th weekly Oni Memo, focused on one of the "formidable foes" — Dokyo. She's a mad scientist obsessed with creating new Genma in an underground Kyoto laboratory.
Dokyo is the only character in the game who speaks the Kyoto dialect. Unlike other Genma, she combines intellect, creepiness and a peculiar charm that makes her truly memorable.
One standout detail is her fingers: Dokyo wraps them in red thread and weaves shapes, like a game of cat's cradle. The developers hint this thread may play a role in combat or special mechanics. Preparations for the 2026 release, the team says, are in full swing.
