A new era for the RTS classic: Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition now runs natively on modern Macs. The macOS port was built with Feral Interactive and is available now on Steam — if you already own the game, the macOS version is free.
It's a full edition with two decades of improvements: 4K graphics, a remastered soundtrack, new animations and a host of QoL upgrades. Story campaigns of kings and khans, skirmish against up to eight opponents, online multiplayer and co-op campaigns are all here.
The base version includes three expansions — Lords of the West, Dawn of the Dukes and Dynasties of India — and the entire DLC store is available, including the recent The Last Chieftains with South American campaigns.
