Warriors!
Welcome to the Gloria Victis Weekly News!
This week, we're taking a closer look at the Show of Strength expansion, bringing the event beyond castles and into more of the battles taking place across Stoneholm.
We also have a quick update on the ongoing work surrounding the Easy Anti-Cheat, something new being prepared for our community on Bilibili, and another pair of Community Members being celebrated in this week's spotlight.
Let's get into it!

Show of Strength Expansion
Sieges are at the heart of Gloria Victis, and Show of Strength has given players another reason to rally their forces, defend their territory, and take the fight to their enemies.
Now, we're expanding it.
Here's a detailed look at the expansion, the vision behind it, and some of the ideas we're exploring for the future.

The Expansion
The Show of Strength is a well-known and popular event that takes place at the last castles in the outer ring, i.e. Skogar, Blackrock, or Haddah and enhances the siege experience for players. Show of Strength is an event where players from both sides receive extra rewards. Attacking force receive them for securing each castle courtyard, with a final reward for capturing the bastion. Defenders receive rewards for withstanding a certain amount of time. This event doesn't start on its own - it has to be triggered by players using a "Siege Token" that is a part of the guild rewards, which each guild receives once a week. It means that this event occurs due to the player's initiative, and this guarantees a certain PvP action.
The Show of Strength event is a great example of how to incentivise and reward players for participating in the siege battles, and how to enhance the besieges and players experience during them. We see that this event cannot only be reinforced but also translated to other locations, and we are excited to tell you that this event has been expanded and from now on, it can be held at forts and outposts!
Forts and outposts experience many battles that can even last for hours, and when the battles conclude, players expect rewards and then participate further in content they like the most, but battles before this expansion didn't provide a steady flow of rewards i.e. coins, and to gain them to cover expenses, players have to perform other activities, distracting them from the battles they want to fight. With this event expansion, we not only incentivise sieges, but also address frequent feedback regarding rewards and inability to cover daily expenses by being active in PvP. To address it properly, with no space for exploitation, we naturally had to expand the Show of Strength event to forts and outposts.
The rewards from Show of Strength events in the forts and outposts focus on coins as the principal reward, while the castle events oscillate around chests from which players can receive random top-tier items.

The Vision
We view the expansion of the Show of Strength event as content that can strengthen inner cooperation; it can encourage players, guilds and alliances within nations to cooperate more and organise campaigns around Show of Strength events. From now on, you can plan and have a chain of 3 events happening one after another. Completing all of them in one go might be challenging but rewarding for everyone participant.

Further ideas
The Show of Strength event in its current form provides extra rewards and makes sieges more varied, as it adds new conditions to the ongoing sieges. We see that we can make this event and sieges a bit more varied by adding other conditions, layers and stages, and we would like to hear your ideas. What can we do with this event? These are just a few ideas and examples we can introduce.
- Introduce small stages for the attacking side whose goal is to kill guards standing outside the castle. Maybe they should guard something that the attacking side has to bring into the siege camp.
- We could introduce a similar stages, but for the defenders. Once the attacking side secures a certain courtyard, we could spawn some guards there that have to be killed or spawn a crate that must be retrieved by the defenders.
- Introduce a stage that spawns an object inside the siege camp that can be stolen by the defenders and brought inside the castle to terminate the Show of Strength event with them being victorious.
Let us hear your ideas and feedback on this expansion!
