Wolfenstein®: The Old Blood is a standalone prequel to the critically acclaimed first-person action-adventure shooter, Wolfenstein®: The New Order. The adventure, which spans eight chapters and two interconnected stories, features the hallmarks of MachineGames – thrilling action, immersive story and intense first-person combat. As war hero B.J. Blazkowicz, arm yourself with new weapons such as the bolt-action rifle and grenade-launching Kampfpistole as you attempt to thwart the advancing Nazi war machine, and take advantage of duel-wielding pipes that can be used for wall climbing – or for vicious take-downs of never-before-seen Nazi adversaries.
STORY
The year is 1946 and the Nazis are on the brink of winning World War II. In an effort to turn the tide in the allies’ favor, B.J. Blazkowicz must embark on an epic, two-part mission deep within Bavaria….
Part one of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves - pits BJ Blazkowicz against a maniacal prison warden as he breaks into Castle Wolfenstein in an attempt to steal the coordinates to General Deathshead’s compound. In part two – The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs – our hero's search for the coordinates leads him to the city of Wulfburg where an obsessed Nazi archaeologist is exhuming mysterious artifacts that threaten to unleash a dark and ancient power.

I liked the game, I think it's a nice prequel, I was surprised by the zombies, which made the rest of the story very interesting, but in my mind, I don't consider this game as canon.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a really good standalone expansion to The New Order. It can probably never live up to the quality and variety of the sequel due to the smaller budget and the time set during the story. Despite those shortcomings, the game still has the same punchy gunplay and an interesting story with a supernatural twist to it. I would highly recommend to play it before The New Order.

Really enjoyed getting to infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein in this one, the village section was a nice change of scenery and I loved how this one leaned into the paranormal more than the New Order. Feels and plays exactly like the first game so it's just more of what was already great.

THIS GAME IS SO GOOD. I highly recommend playing through the entire story, and then playing Wolfenstein: The new order. edit: I personally think the game starts off slow, but continuously ramps up the energy as you play further into the story. So I'd recommend getting that first chapter completed for the real fun to start.

Amazing. Came back to replay after finishing the DLC of IDs other master piece, Doom. On pins and needles waiting for Chris Nolan's Wolfenstein w Elliot Page as Blazkowicz and Nyongo as Obersturmbannfuhrer Helga von Schabbs. Sure it wont make any sense, but at least everyone qualifiesfor a gold trophy just for checking all the boxes!!!!
