Nearly a year and a half has passed since the Erebonian civil war, and much has changed since then. From the shifting stances of countries to the internal politics of the Empire, and even the life of Rean Schwarzer, the shadows of the past have given way to the embers of a new chapter. Now graduated from Thors Military Academy, Rean has become an instructor at the Thors Branch Campus, a newly-opened academy that quickly finds itself thrust onto the national stage. It is here that he takes the lead of a brand new Class VII, and must guide a new generation of heroes into an unknown future. Though all is calm now, the nefarious Ouroboros organization continues to weave a dark plot that could engulf the entire continent in war...or perhaps something even more sinister.
Trails of Cold Steel III invites players into a world full of intrigue and excitement that is years in the making. They will embark on a whirlwind tour through the never-before-seen lands of the recently expanded Erebonian countryside, and encounter fresh faces as well as old friends familiar to fans of the series. In true Trails fashion, the deep, engaging story pairs with an incredible cast of characters and a combat system refined over decades of innovative RPG worldbuilding.

i really enjoy trails series. The characters are memorable, the story is good, and the progression feels engaging. I never spent so much time in a jrpg campaign before (not even persona 5) it just has some anime clic...

[i]"In order to save my hometown from poverty, I covered myself in the smoke of war and the blood of innocents in foreign lands."[/i] Every now and then I'll be rolling my eyes and cringing a bit at some of the very tired anime tropes that are very much a part of this series, but the next moment they'll have me outright weeping with the storytelling and dropping absolute fire lines like that, reminding me of the undeniable truth: I love Trails.

I am always 100% a Trail series fan and always enjoy the series. The game started off slow and actually a little too slow for me. But as with all the Trrail games, when things starting to heat up, Fighting system at the beginning feels very boring and basic but will get better once you starts to level up and getting better quartz.

i really enjoy trails series. The characters are memorable, the story is good, and the progression feels engaging. I never spent so much time in a jrpg campaign before (not even persona 5) it just has some anime cliches that can turn you off but the gameplay makes up for it. It has one of the most satisfying combats in turn based rpgs. kinda difficult to keep up with the releasing pace of all the games in the franchise being an adult, but it is a vast universe worth the try.

absolutely brilliant game, everything from the game to the characters and the OST, i just loved every second of it, top 3 trails opening for me as well the reveal of one particular person (in the crossbell parts) still has me shaken to this day
