The legacy of these achievements and struggles continues to shape Scotland’s traditions, culture, and identity.
The Scots field a vast roster of unique infantry that excel around Stealth Forests, seeing directly through them. Produce and protect Highland Cattle as they graze Berry Bushes for bonus Food. Raid with swift warriors or fortify your defenses with a civilization renowned for resilience, tenacity, and battlefield adaptability.
Playing the Scots

The Scots build a thriving Food economy through Highland Cattle grazing Berry Bushes. Tower Houses produce and shelter these important cattle, making them vital for the Scots economy and a prime target for enemy raids. Form the legendary Scottish schiltron with Pikemen, supported by Lochaber Axe equipped Men-at-Arms, and the fearless Gallowglass. Together these warriors create a formidable infantry force capable of holding ground and repelling attacks. Construct the Mustering Hall and begin mustering forces rapidly to respond to enemy advances. The Mustering Hall holds powerful technologies from the Lowlands and Highlands of Scotland that greatly reduce in cost when constructing a Landmark from that region. Whether you favor highland aggression, lowland defense, or a mixture of both, the Mustering Hall meets the needs of war.

The Scots Through the Ages
Age 1

The Scots Dark Age begins with assigning their first Highland Cattle to Berry Bushes near a Tower House, providing their cattle with unique garrison spaces in event of a raid. In addition, Tower Houses also increase population capacity and allow for Highland Cattle production to begin. As the Scots begin to lay the foundations of their kingdom, the Pictish Pikeman stands ready to protect their village. As Scots Age up, they choose a Landmark between the Lowlands or Highlands of Scotland.
Age 2

Advance to the Feudal Age with the Stone of Destiny from the Lowlands and begin the feudalization process by constructing buildings within the Landmarks reach for a rebate of Gold. Produce a Kirkman and establish a Fishpond to gather Gold. While Kirkman work Fishponds, nearby Villager gather rates are also increased. Construct the Mustering Hall to unlock Lowland and Highland technologies and begin the rapid mustering of reinforcements by spending Food on muster charges.
Age 3

Advance to the Castle Age with the Tower of Skye from the Highlands that shrouds itself in Stealth Forests and unlocks Stealth Forest creation at Tower Houses. Maintain a defensive edge with the Scots unique ability to use Stealth Forests for vision, movement, and ambush opportunities. The fearless Gallowglass becomes available to train or muster at the Barracks and Mustering Hall. By now, the Scots have a thriving economy through Highland Cattle and clever Fishpond placements.
Age 4

Enter the Imperial Age with Dhùn Èideann from the Lowlands to secure the region with the “Seven Sisters” cannons and increase the range of gunpowder siege engines. Research Basket-Hilted Broadswords for Caterans and witness a warrior of poor class rise to riches. Train the unforgiving Border Reivers and leverage their speed to raid enemies along the countryside. Research the final Mustering Hall technologies and secure the Kingdom of Scotland.
