In the darkest age of Japan, endless war leaves a country divided. It is the middle of the 16th Century in Feudal Japan. The country, once ruled by a unified government, is now split into many warring clans. Ten legendary warlords strive for supremacy as conspiracies and conflicts wither the empire. Only one will rise above all to win the heart of a nation as the new shogun...The others will die by his sword.
Take on the role of one Daimyo, the clan leader, and use military engagements, economics and diplomacy to achieve the ultimate goal: re-unite Japan under his supreme command and become the new Shogun – the undisputed ruler of a pacified nation.
Game Features
Total War: SHOGUN 2 features enhanced full 3D battles via land and sea, which made a name for the series, as well as the tactical campaign map that many refer to as the heart and soul of Total War. Featuring a brand new AI system inspired by the scriptures that influenced Japanese warfare, the millennia old Chinese “Art of War”, the Creative Assembly brings the wisdom of Master Sun Tsu to Total War: SHOGUN 2. Analysing this ancient text enabled the Creative Assembly to implement easy to understand yet deep strategical gameplay.-

Perhaps the last good Total war game. Runs well enough and graphics are alright. Fewer units in comparison to many of the other games, but every unit feels like they can be used to great effect. An example being: Yari ashigaru having a diffrent usecase to Yari Samurai, and not just a stat increase with a reskin. Can't say the same for the likes of the Warhammer games.... Overal great game with good internal balancing. Often on sale for a good price, and a good starting point into Total War.

I rate this game a Yari Ashigaru/10. If you disagree with my opinion, i will assasinate your son and heir, and then your entire line of succession. I will eradicate your armies and leave only you and your bodyguard alive. I shall then make you a vassal and keep assasinating everyone but you, so that you will die a lonely puppet daimyo of a powerless buffer state soon to be eradicated.

My generals are constantly in grave danger and my kids get slaughtered in a bloody war 10/10 i like this game

A fun game. Though the ai is draining in a way. I don't understand how the ai can fund an army of elite over and over again, even after being obliterated.

The Total War Games would be a lot better if the campaign maps and provinces were bigger. I would suggest as well that there are more resources and to be able to recruit merchants to stand over them to set up trade like in Total War Medieval 2 so every faction one plays is not strapped for coins.

Awesome game the single player is still fun mostly the struggle at the start is very intense but later on campaign it gets easy and you can steamroll the map.
